Students from the High School Affiliated to Sichuan Conservatory of Music Won the International Piano Competition

The 2020 Vladimir Klenev International Piano Competition, hosted by the Moscow Cultural Bureau of Russia and the Moscow International Performing Arts Center-Moscow State Academy of Culture, was held in Moscow in June. The competition attracted more than 300 outstanding players from all over the world, including China, Russia, the United States, Italy, Japan, and South Korea. Affected by the epidemic, the event will be played by online home video recording.

After fierce competition, Gong Yuran (supervisor: Professor Zhou Yan), a high school student from the Piano Department attached to SCCM, won the bronze prize in the Junior Open Group in this competition. Alexander Romanovsky, the art director of the competition and a famous pianist who won the Gold Medal of the Busoni International Piano Competition, commented on her performation: She has shown proficient skills in key touch processing and timbre changes; she also has unique insights in the interpretation of works and the mastery of style on the basis of following rigorous norms; at the same time, she integrates herself into music, creating many interesting and novel artistic images.
